review for Her Forbidden Hero

Her Forbidden Hero is written by Laura Kaye & was surprisingly really good. I had my doubts being that its about a war veteran and with my dad being the military i know what those men go through. I initially thought it would be sad or it would make me angry with all of his efforts of pushing her away BUT I was wrong.

Info of this book: Alyssa Scott returns home from college with only a car and a couple of pennies to her name. With her brother serving in the Special Forces abroad God knows where, and her abusive alcoholic father not someone she can turn to, she decides to apply for a job at a local bar/live music joint. It helps that Marco Vieri - her brother's best friend and the man she's had a crush on since childhood - is a bartender there.

Marco Vieri is former Army Special Forces - former because he was injured in Afghanistan in ways that go beyond physical damage. He's completely changed, and when all-grown-up Alyssa gets a job working in his bar, he's terrified. He no longer trusts his ability to take care of anyone the way he used to protect Alyssa from her father, and he doesn't trust himself not to make a move on his best friend's little sister.

This story was beautifully written... it was written from Marco and Alyssa points of view, which really gives the reader a wide idea of how each person is really feeling instead of just how one sees that person feeling. I liked watching and experiencing their journey as they both cope with their pasts and working on getting over those past, hard feelings and finally accepting that they have this wild and burning passion for one another that neither can deny!

Well worth my time and money(;
